She's been known to conquer the dance floor, hailed as the Dance Princess of the showbiz industry, Maja Salvador now celebrates her 10th Anniversary through a benefit concert touring around the country. 

Maja is helping an orphanage, everything from the concert goes to them, these are children who were abandoned by their parents and Maja wants to help them even through their schooling. 

The concert was first derived from a joke, Maja wanted to celebrate her 10th with a bang and showcase her talent in singing, her actual goal was to do sing and dance that's why she took some voice classes when the project was given a go signal. Admittedly, the concert series was a dream came true for her. She is thankful for the opportunity to perform and shares that she is happiest when she entertains people, hence, her success.

When Maja performs, people feel the intensity and the passion, I for one really loves her dancing, "bigay todo but graceful" and doing it now with singing, I must say she has improved her voice and can sure carry a sing and dance performance. 

She may have been called names, been and still being bashed online but she sure is a fighter. Happy 10th Year Maja! Happy Birthday too.

Julie Anne plays a blind girl who has been dreaming to be a successful singer, she mentioned that one of her inspiration in doing this role is the blind singer Fatima. One Run, One Philippines | A Run for the Pasig River

Here is the official and complete information for the upcoming "One Run, One Philippines." Calling all running enthusiasts, first timers, barkada, family and everyone to join in and make a difference. This run will be super worth it!

Thousands of participants are expected to take part in the “One Run, One Philippines,” the five-city simultaneous advocacy run of ABS-CBN in the Philippines and the United States this October 6 as part of ABS-CBN’s 60th anniversary celebration.

 

In cooperation of ABS-CBN Foundation’s Kapit Bisig Para sa Ilog Pasig (KBPIP), Regional Network Group (RNG) and The Filipino Channel (TFC), the “One Run, One Philippines” will invade Quezon City, Cebu City, Bacolod City, Davao City, and Los Angeles (USA) to clamor for the protection of various environmental advocacies.

 

"Participants are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles as disposable cups will not be provided at water stations positioned along the roads to promote environmental awareness and minimize waste production," said ABS-CBN Foundation managing director Gina Lopez at the press conference  held at the Torre Venezia Suites, the official hotel partner of the event.

 

The Quezon City leg or the fifth “Run for the Pasig River” will be held at Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC) with 6:00 AM gunstart for both 3K and 5K categories. Starting line is located at the Technohub overpass. Participants will go straight along Commonwealth Avenue then head to QMC for the finish line.

 

As part of its preparation, lanes that will be used for the race will be closed at 2 AM on the event day, while the two outermost lanes on both sides of Commonwealth Avenue will remain open. The motorists are advised to take alternate routes if possible as heavy traffic is expected.

 

Parking zones located at Philcoa, Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Agriculture, Department of Environmental and Natural Resources, Sugar Regulatory Commission, Trinoma, Wildlife, Quezon City Hall, National House Authority, and side streets of University Avenue, Visayas Avenue, North Avenue, Quezon Avenue, East Avenue and Kalayaan Avenue have been reserved for participants with vehicles.

 

Meanwhile, the three provincial legs will all start at 4:30 AM with its 21K category followed by the 5K and 10 K at 5:30 AM. Starting line of Cebu leg is at SM City Cebu, Davao leg is at the Abreeza Mall, while the Bacolod leg is at the Provincial Capitol Lagoon.

 

The Los Angeles leg, on the other hand, will begin at 7:30 AM with its 1K Kiddie Run, 5K and 10K categories at Burbank, California.

 

The Cebu leg will benefit coastal conservation in Daan Paz; the Davao leg will support the ecotourism projects in Marilog Tourist Center; the Bacolod leg will help the mangrove and livelihood projects in Punta Taytay, Sum-ag River rehabilitation, and eco tourism projects in Bacolod City Water District Campuestuhan Watershed; while the Los Angeles leg will fund the Green Initiative of Bantay Kalikasan.

 

Kapamilya stars Anne Curtis, Kim Atienza, Kim Chiu, Karylle and model-blogger Erwann Heusaff will lead the “Run for the Pasig River” in Quezon City that will again raise funds for the rehabilitation of the Pasig River and its tributaries.

 

Paulo Avelino, Jayson Abalos (Cebu leg); Maja Salvador, Aaron Villaflor, Bryan Termulo (Davao City); Joem Bascon, Paul Jake Castillo, Bangs Garcia; and Jake Cuenca (Los Angeles), will represent the four other legs of "One Run, One Philippines," which will also benefit various environmental projects.

 

The KBPIP has organized four successful runs for the Pasig River and had raised P25.94 million. In 2009, the fun run funded the initial phase of Estero de Paco’s clean-up, while the historic “10.10.10 Run for the Pasig River” funded the second phase and even broke the Guinness World Record for the “most number of participants in a running event” with116,086 runners.

 

The 2011 and 2012 runs for the Pasig River are currently aiding the rehabilitation of 16 esteros in Quezon City and Manila including the Estero de San Miguel and four others behind the Malacañan Palace.

 

Registration for the fifth “Run for the Pasig River” is ongoing at Run for the Pasig River booths in SM Mall of Asia, SM North EDSA, and SM Megamall and Chris Sports outlets in Glorietta, Festival Mall, SM North EDSA Annex, SM Manila, SM Fairview, SM Megamall and Fitness & Athletics BGC. Subic Fitness Festival | The fun begins here

To be fit is easier said than done, some would say being fat or thin doesn't mean you are healthy. I am on the heavier side, but to be thin is not actually my greatest goal in life, I exercise because I want to pump up my body. Some would agree with me when I say doing the regular exercise routine is kinda boring, that's why many kinds of exercises were created now. Well as for me I am more interested in dancing while burning those calories, or anything that doesn't have to be repeated over and over again for a month or so.

Here comes Subic Fitness Festival, this is actually a competition that's going to happen in Subic before this year ends, they partner with different fitness advocates here in Manila to teach us and let us experience the 24 disciplines of fitness. We opened two weeks ago running our third week now, and started with Circuit Warz, Urban Street Dancing and Meta Cap at FTX Gym in Makati. Yes, three different exercises every week which covers Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 4pm to 9pm at different locations being announced weekly.

I will be updating this for the second and third week, coming up will be zumba, krav maga, yoga and many more, Isn't that exciting?! It's Showtime

Papapaaah-parapaaah-parapaaa-ra-papapaaah... The opening tune that is very familiar to most of us. Yes, It's Showtime has been running for more or less 4 years now and has proven that they can actually stay and be the official noontime show of ABS-CBN. 

It's Showtime goes on live everyday, and having live audiences is not an easy task to maintain. But seeing the burning passion and love of the production people in their craft and the show, it just proves that this kapamilya show will go on more years.

The fun begins when the hosts starts to interact with the madlang people, their Sine-Mo-To segment gives the audience a chance to showcase their acting talents and take home some cold cash as their prize, also an opportunity to get closer to their favorite stars on stage.

Galema Anak ni Zuma | Kapamilya Gold

Afternoons were traditionally used for nap times, but in this day and age, several telenovelas were able to break that tradition. And now another one will surely change the game in ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Gold time slot.

Galema Anak ni Zuma, is a remake from those Zuma and Galema movies way back years ago, but this time it will be done on television. Direk Wenn V. Deramas is handling this project and personally chose Andi Eigenmann to portray Galema because he believes Andi is very talented and is always ready to do anything just to make this project successful. Galema will also be the comeback for the loveteam of Andi and Matteo Guidicelli, which started from the successful prime time bida teleserye Agua Bendita. So for the fans of these two, you are in for an afternoon treat.

Galema will be airing on September 30 and will also be top billed by great actors and actresses. Another story that will surely surprise and make your afternoons more exciting.

Momzillas | The Blogger's Conference

The wait is over for the fans of the one and only Diamond Star Ms.Maricel Soriano yes she is definitely back, alongside one of the most sought after actress "the" Ms. Eugene Domingo in one hilarious comedy movie called MomZillas.

It is refreshing to see Ms. Maricel to be back on the big screen, being known as the diamond star, indeed diamonds are forever. And even funnier having Ms Eugene tagged as the "rough" diamond star.

The blog-con was having a good time chit chatting with the cast who came including Billy Crawford and Andi Eigennman. This movie is more for the family, a typical family who have moms who really are very protective of their kids. Billy and Andi said they are extremely proud to be working with the Ms. Maricel and Ms. Eugene, Billy quips it was fun and that he is truly honored. Andy on the other hand said that she learned a lot especially from Ms. Maricel on being professional and she is inspired to do more to be better in her craft.

Jokes of Ms. Maricel's being professional were thrown, she was always too early for the shoot, "niloloko na ga nila ako na siguro daw ako ngapapa renta ng ga tent dahil mas maaga pa ako sa crew." But she admits another reason why she's always early is that, she wants to have a "chikahan" time with everyone, relaxed mood first before going on shoot and she quips "in short chismosa ako, gusto ko muna ng chismis hahaha"

It's been a while since we last saw a film that was given a Rated G by the CEB, this means a movie with this rating is open to everyone.

Momzillas was given the capital G signaling everyone to watch this comedy film starring the comeback of the diamond star Ms. Maricel Soriano and one of my personal favorites in the field of acting Ms. Eugene Domingo. Imagine them together in this and was directed by non other than Wenn V. Deramas and for sure you'll be smiling all through out the movie. Also in the movie is Billy Crawford and Andi Eigennman as the son and daughter of the two moms.

Momzillas is now showing in cinemas nationwide.

The inTENsity of Erik Santos

Ten years, this is how proud Erik was when we had the chance to have a quick interview with him during his photo shoot for his 10th Anniversary concert happening in November 9, at the PICC entitled "inTENse. He said he has a lot of surprises in store for everyone and what extremely excites him was having his special guests say yes to celebrating the event with him.

"Give it your all, if you are not willing to give your whole heart and effort to your craft, don't even start to go there, kasi kung hindi ka sigurado, huwag mo na lang umpisahan kasi masasayang lang," His words when I asked him what advice he can give to aspiring singers.

They will start rehearsing soon and will update this post when I get to have more information about the concert, but for now, you can start saving because for sure, this concert is worth your money.

OTJ | The Reality

Finally, I was able to watch this much talked about film and winner of several awards from the Cannes Film Festival. I must say, this movie blew me away.

On The Job "OTJ": The movie is an eye opener for everyone, that there are a lot of kinds of illegalities happening around us, it's like there's more to just those pickpockets, kidnapping, rape, murder, and everyday news. It's another side of this world we live in.

OTJ shows us the reality that in this country we live in, money is very very powerful, and politics is the way to having power. I can't imagine someone being killed and not be given due justice because the suspect can't be found anywhere. Why? Because they are really in jail and the one's in power have the ability to let them out just to finish a job order.

I was completely bothered after watching the film, and with what's happening in our country today, issue on the Pork Barrel Scam, I wish and hope our current government is really serious in exposing everyone involved and pursue a clean and corrupt-less future.

The people behind OTJ is worth all the good words, it's been a while since a plot this strong and brave has been out in the industry. Kudos to the staff and production crew for pulling off those chase scenes and making every other scene locations super believable.

OTJ "On The Job" stars Joey Marquez, Joel Torre, Gerald Anderson and Piolo Pascual, all equally gave justice to their roles. The movie is well directed by Erik Matti. Still showing in cinemas.

Amidst all these chaos, I know in my heart that goodness will still prevail.

Ystilo Salon: Happy 15 Years!

This year, Ystilo Salon celebrates their 15^th Anniversary! Owned and managed by the Magdayao sisters, and endorsed by non-other than Vina Morales and Shaina Magdayao, Ystilo Salon has become one of the biggest hair and beauty salons in the Metro, not only that, because since they’ve open to franchising, the salon is continuously growing even in nearby provinces. And now as they celebrate their 15 years, Vina Morales is doing some store rounds, visiting mostly the ones from franchisee’s and provinces, too bad she says Shaina Magdayao can’t join her since she has been busy with her projects especially with the teleserye Juan dela Cruz, but Shaina is trying to fit her schedule to be at least with her ate for the Manila branches.

Vina, says she can’t actually believe how far they’ve come, and how successful and fulfilling it is to have this business going for 15 years now, she admitted having tried several other business ventures before and failed, she said it is not easy going into business since hard earned money is at stake, but she didn’t gave up and with the support of the whole family especially having all her sisters with her, she can’t imagine that it has already been 15 years and it felt so good.

Melai Cantiveros pregnant with Jason Francisco?

This has been all over Twitter world, although no confirmation yet from the couple, having a baby is a blessing. If this is true, I wish Melai a healthy pregnancy and for Jason to be a good provider. Let's just be happy for them and wait for their official announcement. Good day!

Hindi pa makapaniwala ang iba.  Buntis nga ang 25-year old na si Melai Cantiveros courtesy of her boyfriend na si Jason Francisco.  Kung ilang buwan?  Ayon sa source ko,  mga 2 months na raw ito. 

       Ang sabi, made in Singapore nu’ng nagte-taping sila ng KrisTV.  Eh, di ba, favorite silang dalawa ni Kris Aquino?  Kaya ayun na nga,  nakabuo na rin sila, finally.

       Ang isa pang tsika ng aming source, nagsa-shopping ang magdyowang JLC at Angelica Panganiban nu’ng tumawag si Melai para ibalita sa kanyang best friend na si Tweeny (si Angelica) na buntis siya.

       Mixed emotions daw itong si Angelica, dahil hindi malaman nu’ng una kung matutuwa o maiinis sa ibinalita ni Melai.  Kasi nga, buwisit daw ito sa boyfriend ni Melai na si Jason, dahil nga andami na ring trouble na pinasukan ni Jason at lagi na lang inuunawa ito ni Melai.

       Pero wala naman daw magawa si Angel, dahil mahal talaga ni Melai si Jason, eh. Ilang tao na rin sa “Banana Split” ang naaawa dito kay Melai sa diumano’y pinaggagawa ni Jason sa sarili na pinagpapasensiyahan lang ni Melai.

      Nariyang sa sobrang inlove ni Jason kay Melai ay minsan na ring naghiwa ng blade sa mukha at sa braso ‘yung lalake para lang patunayan na mahal nito si Melai at sobrang seloso daw ito.

      Dumating pa sa point na maging si John Prats ay talikuran nitong sinapak sa mukha nu’ng rehearsal ng Banana Split sa Music Museum na aabot pa sana sa demandahan kung hindi pa nag-public apology si Jason na nagsabing nabigla lang siya, dahil feeling nito ay inookray sa umpukan ng magbabarkada ang girlfriend niya.

     Nawalan ng work si Jason, kaya ayon sa source, ‘yun din daw ang inaalala ni Angel, dahil si Melai lang ang kumakayod sa dalawa at heto’t ilang taping na rin ng “Banana Split”  hindi sumisipot si Melai.

     ”Nu’ng Banana Split na lang ang show ni Melai dahil natapos na nga ang ‘Apoy Sa Dagat, sa condo yan dati umuupa eh, ayun, bumalik na rin sa napanalunan niyang bahay nu’ng Pinoy Big Brother na sa Binangonan pa yata ‘yon o sa Valenzuela?

     ”Pinapatira nga ‘yan ni Angel sa condo niya sa Libis, pero nahihiya si Melai, kaya bumalik na lang sa napanalunan niyang bahay.  Feeling ko nga, nahihiya rin si Melai na tumira sa condo ni Angel, dahil alam din ni Melai na wa feel ni Angel si Jason, kaya back to old house na rin siya.

      “Saka nagli-live-in na sila, alam ko eh.  Ewan ko kung tutuparin ni Jason na mag-seaman na lang para makapagtrabaho, kung wala din naman siyang work sa ABS-CBN.

     ”Basta sabi ni Melai, happy naman siya at hindi niya pinagsisisihan kung nabuntis man siya kahit pa nga siya din ang breadwinner ng family niya sa GenSan.

       ”Kaso nga lang, paano makakapagtrabaho eh buntis nga?  Eh, di magagalaw na ‘yung ipon niya habang dapat sana’y naghahanap na ng trabaho si Jason, di ba?” sey pa ng friend ni Melai.

       Sa mga tweets na natatanggap namin ay haping-happy naman ang followers ng tambalang Melason sa balitang ito.  Matutupad na rin daw ang dummy baby nila noon sa loob ng bahay ni Kuya na tinawag nilang “Dengue.”

        “Matutuwa ka na rin dito kay Melai, kasi, sobrang mahal niya talaga si Jason.  Kahit pa sabihin ng mga kaibigan niyang ”Yang barumbado mong boyfriend!’ ay sasalagin naman ito ni Melai ng, ‘Uy, ah, ‘wag naman. Mahal ko naman yung lalaking ‘yon.  Hayaan n’yo na, happy naman ako!’

      “At kahit ngayong buntis siya,  ’yun ang pakiusap niya, ‘Kung mahal n’yo ako, maging happy na lang kayo for me, please?’”

        Puro galing ang impormasyon sa ilang nakausap naming kaibigan at wala pang kumpirmasyon mismo kay Melai o kay Jason.

       Feeling ko naman, hindi nawawalan ng pag-asa si Melai na mababago pa ni Jason ang sarili, lalo na ngayong magkakaanak na sila.  At ito rin ang “challenge” kay Jason para patunayan niya sa kanilang mga kaibigan na sumama ang loob sa kanya na kaya pa rin niyang bumangon, makabawi at magbago para sa kanilang anak.
