The Road to our Forever (Meron nga kasi!)

Several years ago, I told my then "single" self that I don't want to work in Manila because mainit kasi, I came from Baguio so syempre the difference in weather was the best kaartehan I could ever reason out. My boyfriend then, now my husband (para clear lang tayo lol!) submitted my resume to different call center companies, I received several phone interviews and was invited for exams, in short I was hired. I told my mom that a friend reffered me and was able to look for a boarding house where I could stay (boyfriend ko talaga may gawa non pero secret lang hahaha). And so my Manila journey began, then we both transferred in OSRP where we became officemates, we loved the company and the people we worked with, I never thought we'd gain lifetime friends and we were thankful, very thankful for having them in our lives. Of course, plans change and we had to separate ways (nag-resign, lumipat etc.) but came our wedding day, they were present.

We were and until now renting a one bedroom apartment and I believe we are very blessed to have mababait na land lady (hindi yung parang sa movies na bungagera, naka rollers at may yosi type lol!) I remembered before, I was asked by one of our friend slash Ate (sa office) slash Ninang sa kasal (so if you are reading this alam mo na ikaw to hahaha!) on why don't we look for a property na for us, or a condo unit, my reaction was no, we don't want to kasi di rin kami magtatagal dito sa Manila, and we still want to raise our kids in our hometown etc, etc. Also, I never wanted the idea of living in a condo unit, limited space, kulob, expensive and I really wanted a house and lot. Fast forward to now, wala pa rin kaming house and lot, there are affordable ones but are outside Metro Manila na, we first considered the work of the Mister, travel time (hello traffic) spent supposedly with the family will be gone, some of the houses we saw was very very beautiful but the problem was, stores or markets are outside the villages pa (mahirap kapag nakalimutan kong wala na pala kaming bawang, malayo ang tindahan hahaha). And because we already have our baby B, we also considered nearby schools kung meron and syempre we wanted a good school for him din.

So fast forward ulit to yesterday, we finally signed up, for what? For a 2-bedroom condo unit, pre-selling here within the area, and no hindi po ako ahente hahaha before you stop reading nililinaw ko lang. Nilafang ko lahat ng inayawan ko noon, yes change can just be like that, yung inarte ko noon na ayaw ko ng condo, ayoko sa Manila, hello for my blogging events kung saan-saan na nga ako nakarating and it will be my husband's forever joke "ayaw mo sa Manila ha eh kung saan-saan ka nga pumupunta" my answer would always be "may pa-service naman yung PR" hahaha! So yesterday my dear friends was the biggest kaba of my life, because this will be the most expensive thing na pagdadaanan namin, we thought while B is still young and before he goes to school, we will move-in in about 5years, and it will be ours, our own, my kitchen! We have great schools in the area, our favorite grocery and we are in the middle of almost everywhere, malls nearby, hospitals too and a tricycle ride away from EDSA. And the condo and building model parang resort, open spaces yung corridors so you won't feel kulob, swimming pools yes may 's' tatlo kasi bakit ba haha, basta excited na kami. But of course with the excitement comes a few changes in our lifestyle, tipid mode muna as we face in achieving this new dream of ours and with the support of our dear families and friends and by God's grace we know we will pull this off with flying colors. Thanks for reading and I can't wait to share with you all in five years kung ano na ang naipundar namin, but for now back to regular entertainment-lifestyle-food-parenting blog posts muna ulit.

Love and Blessings to all!
P.S. Pwede nyo rin ako contact kung bet nyo kumuha I can forward you to our agent naman 😘😘😘

  1. Good decision, it is really better to invest on your own property kaysa magrent. :)

  2. Sana magkasariling house din kami. We've been renting for how.many years now. Kung isa-sum up lahat ng bayad namin sa renta baka may sarili na kaming bahay. Good luck sa inyong new journey. Kaya yan! Puuush lang :)

  4. I can relate to the "hindi magtatagal sa Manila" reasoning. I am a Baguio girl myself, planned to work in Manila for 5 years tops then go back to Baguio. I was thinking those days that 5 years will be enough to get rich! LOL! Been living in the big metro for 11 years now and my little boy is now living with me here as well. I am also planning to get a condo hopefully in the near future since it looks like we will be here for a longer time. :) Still not well adjusted to the heat and still get easily acclimated to the cool weather in the mountain city. :D

  7. Years ago, I was supposed to live in Baguio naman (after a heartbreak hahaha), kaso di ako pinayagan ng kuya ko. If that happened, for sure hindi ko makikilala si Hubby (at wala akong Cloud). Anyway, I am looking for a condo din but for an investment. I still prefer the house and lot, yun nga lang wala ka nang makikitang mura dito sa Metro Manila.

    1. Exactly, super mahal and if house and lot talaga malayo so ito na ang pinaka practical na dapat naming gawin, baka you want to check out lang din Brixton by DMCI, Kapitolyo area lang so the location is good. Let me know if ever so I can connect you to our agent 😘

  11. Congrats on your new investment! Good find ah, 2 bedroom condo units are hard to find. We live in a studio type condo unit, but we're about to give up the property because we have another baby on the way. So we have to sell our unit and rent na lang muna. Not our most ideal situation but we intend to get a house and lot property by 2018 na lang para mas mapagisipan at mas makahanap ng mas maayos na quality ng bahay. Mahirap rin kasi baka magsisi na naman kami sa huli. Haha so ngayon, we'll take it slow na.

  12. Congrats on your new home! It is really not easy. Kame nga we've been paying a mortgage na hindi pa din namin nalilipatan til now. Ang hirap din kasi ang daming factors na kelangang iconsider.

  13. I think owning such property needs a deep decision making. In my opinion lang ha, I've read kasi somewhere na mas okey pa daw yung magrent kasi you'll be able to move easily, which in some aspects is true. Although, I'd love to have my own home din. Siguro just build one in the province and just rent sa city. Rent-to-own is great din.

  18. My husband and I live in Manila but we decided to move to Cavite because the place is more kid friendly (maluwag at tahimik). It's nice that condos nowadays have amenities like pool, playground, gym etc. but still we don't want it kasi mas gusto namin ng may sariling lupa. We're happy na din that our subdivision also has amenities just like condominium. What's nice about condos naman is madali ibenta in the future because of their locations. Kahit ano pa yan, masaya talaga pag sarili mong property.

  19. Super uso na these days to get a condo, which is also why they are sprouting everywhere! Pag convenient ang location, good investment na iyan, rather than having to deal with traffic and hassle everyday.
