I am an LG G2 user. It was my first time to purchase a Smartphone that expensive, even had to ask my Mom to charge it on her credit card so I can pay it for 6 months. But I must say, it was all worth it. Last year I was invited to the Launch of LG G2, I had no interest whatsoever to purchase it, but when it was presented in a very detailed matter, I had the urge of getting one. Yes there are a lot of phone brands that are really good, but I had the connection with LG G2 because of its useability for me. I believe all phones fit us in different ways, there is no phone that is for everyone, it all depends on your needs and how you use it. And LG G2 won my heart. 

This year, it excites me that LG launches its LG G3, the colors made me think if I will go for an upgrade, but I am too satisfied with G2 that I'd stay with it first. But for those of you who would like to know what LG G3 can actually offer, this might help. And oh, crossing my fingers to be invited for the launch here in the Philippines.

MANILA, May 28, 2014 – Mobile World Congress’ most innovative manufacturer of the year, LG Electronics, globally introduced today the much-anticipated successor of the highly-acclaimed “King of Android” G2—the LG G3.

With launch events taking place in six cities worldwide—London, New York, San Francisco, Singapore, Istanbul and Seoul—the Korean technology giant aims to redefine the definition of a global smartphone for global consumers with its newest flagship powerhouse—the LG G3.

Redefining smartphone technology with its ‘Simple is the New Smart’ belief, LG G3 is a culmination of consumer research based on LG’s product development philosophy, ‘Learning from You.’ This newest smartphone superstar is amplified with the best of what LG’s current technology has to offer, yet providing consumers with a “simpler” user experience.

“The smartest innovation in a fast evolving smartphone market is creating harmony between advanced technology and a simplified user experience,” said Sung Woo Nam, LG Electronics Philippines managing director. “LG G3 is the result of our effort to actualize that idea into a tangible product—LG’s most advanced technology combined with a simplified user experience designed to make smartphone usage simpler, yet smarter.”

True-to-life viewing experience
A trailblazer in display technology, LG is taking G3’s mobile display supremacy with its breathtaking Quad HD, the result of years of display innovation.

With a pixel density of 538ppi, the G3’s Quad HD display sets new viewing standards, producing images that are sharper and clearer than traditional smartphone displays. At 5.5-inches, LG G3 boasts a screen ratio of 76.4 percent with thin bezels all around to maximize its eye-candy display.
                                                                                                                         
“The high resolution display on the G3 also required LG engineers to pair it with battery technology that was just as innovative,” said Mr. Nam. “LG equipped the G3 with a 3,000mAh removable battery and advanced optimization technologies to further maximize battery efficiency and lifespan. This way, the battery can keep up with the Quad HD display’s ultra-high performance without losing steam in the middle of the day.”

Simply captivating
Aside from the display, G3 boasts of having an advanced 13MP OIS+ camera, designed to quickly and easily capture life’s simple moments. With LG’s innovative world’s first Laser Auto Focus technology for smartphones, the G3 can capture the best and most vivid moments—even in low light—by measuring the distance between the subject and the camera using a laser beam.

Combined with the proven and popular OIS+ technology first seen in the G Pro 2, the G3 is made to impress discerning shutterbugs.

Mr. Nam said, “LG also simplified the actual process of taking photos. Rather than having to focus on the subject in preview mode and then pressing the shutter button, with the G3, tapping the subject to focus will simultaneously also trigger the shutter. What’s more, the G3’s 2.1MP front camera incorporates several new enhancements such as a larger image sensor and larger aperture for more light throughput and better-looking selfies,”

He added, “A unique twist has been added to the standard timed selfie mode by incorporating gesture control. When ready to shoot, one can simply clench his hand into a fist and the G3 will recognize the gesture and begin the automatic three-second countdown. It couldn’t get any simpler than that.”

For video, the G3 offers superior sound quality with instinctive microphones that measure the environment to identify the optimal audio level for the clearest recording. The built-in 1W speaker with Boost AMP also enables users to enjoy videos and music accompanied by richer sounds and clearer tones.

Balanced and simplified design language
The G3 sports a Floating Arc design with its ergonomic arch and slim side profile providing an extremely comfortable grip for everyday one-handed use. LG’s trademark and well-received Rear Key is still making an appearance with G3, donning a newly-designed power key and volume button polished with more premium materials and finish.

Aside from refining the sophisticated technical features lined in a singular layout located at the rear, G3’s stylish metallic skin with matte finish keeps the phone looking clean and fingerprint-free.

G3 will be offered in five vibrant colors: Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Moon Violet and Burgundy Red.

“To complement the new external design, LG adopted a minimalistic user interface design with flat graphics. The circular motif of the graphic assets in the new UI was derived from the shape and concept of LG’s logo, reflecting its unique visual style and identity,” said Nam.

In addition to the advanced core technologies, LG took its ‘Learning from You’ approach to a higher level with new smarter UX features to offer G3 users a unique experience unlike any previous LG smartphone including:

·         Smart Keyboard: An adaptive technology that reduces input errors by up to 75 percent by tracking and analyzing typing habits and intuitively “knowing” what word the user intended to type.

·         Smart Notice: Like a personal assistant, Smart Notice provides suggestions and recommendations based on user behavior, phone usage patterns and location to offer user information when it’s needed the most.

·         Smart Security: LG G3 offers a number of enhanced security features such as the Knock Code which enables users to wake and unlock their device at the same time just by “knocking;” the Content Lock which keeps personal files safe and hidden from view when sharing the G3 with others; and the Kill Switch which gives the owners the ability to disable their phones remotely in case of theft.

Aside from sporting a removable battery, G3 now also has a 16/32 GB internal storage, expandable via microSD of up to 128 GB. This would entail more memory and storage, and a more seamless smartphone performance.

LG introduced as well the newest smartphone companions like the QuickCircle Case in five colors, LG Tone Infinim powered by the premium Harman/Kardon, and a compact and foldable wireless charger.

Home innovations leader LG Electronics Philippines celebrated with mothers this month of May as it gave a one-of-kind treat for these significant women starting off on Mother’s Day.

Recognizing the hard work mothers do for their families all year round, LG gave them a day of pampering and quality time with their families in a makeshift cozy home setup in SM City Marikina, in partnership with SM Appliance Center

LG prepared different activities for them and for their family, especially their kids, including bake-offs, wall art competitions, gaming and 3D movie viewing with their children, and souvenir family photos to complete the LG Mother’s Day experience.

Exciting prizes were also given away to moms who participated at the event such as LG home appliances, mobile phones, and family getaways to excellent destinations such as Buri Resort and Spa at Puerto Galera, Puerto Del Sol at Pangasinan, and EDSA Shangri-La Hotel.

“LG acknowledges all the hard work mothers do, and they are by no means easy tasks,” Youngmin Chae, vice president for LG Philippines’ Home Appliances, said. “We show our appreciation for their unconditional love and support not only through events like this, but also through our continuous innovations designed to make their workload more convenient and beneficial for their families, their homes, and ultimately, for themselves.”
