(Manila, Philippines) — Bumper to Bumper, the longest-running car show and automotive lifestyle event, is once again happening on December 5 and 6 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. Now on its 11th year, the multi-event happening features the biggest production setup in any car show in Asia.

"Filipinos love car shows because we can relate to the cars we see. It is always a delight for us to see so many nice cars in one place. You can always see the excitement in people's eyes when they are in a car show and you also know deep inside that they feel inspired—that one day, they will also have these upgrades or these kind of rides in their garage," muses Jonathan Chio, CEO of Ladder Events Production.

Since 2005, Bumper to Bumper (B2B) has been bringing the car show not only to Manila but to 10 key cities, including Baguio, Batangas, Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, Laguna, La Union, Pampanga, and Pangasinan. It is the only local car show known to do so, in its pursuit to bring the best of the best automotive mods across the Philippines.

Chio furthers, "Bumper to Bumper Car Show is like a theme park of sorts, a theme park for car enthusiasts. We have a wide array of vehicles on display, we have full blown entertainment to fill in your time, and we have unique activities all the time during the event."

The event usually attracts a crowd of 70,000 car enthusiasts and spectators. This year promises to be bigger and better. Activities include a two-division (Pro and Street category) car show competition, off-road vehicle display competition, engine roar competition, drive-in movie, dance showdown, concert, and Sneaker Fever Manila for those who love kicks.

"There are so many things B2B has done to our market. A lot of shops that does not have big budgets for bigger shows were known to have started in our car shows. We have given work opportunities to our car show models. Our event has served as a playground for aspiring photographers and bloggers. But more importantly, a lot of long lasting-friendships were born in our events," says Chio.

Exciting events to look forward to in 2016 include the B2B Car Show Sinulog in January; "Hot Import Nights V Manila” to be held at Metro Tent, Metrowalk on April 23 and 24; “Hot Import Nights Davao” to be held at The Peak in Davao City; and the first-ever Race Wars Unlimited Philippines.

According to a study conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO), children around the world miss an estimated 443 million school days each year because of diseases caused by poor sanitation and hygiene practices, including using unsanitary toilets. Simply put, this number of sick days is equivalent to all grade school and high school classrooms in the Philippines being empty for one month. This sanitation-related concern hinders the children’s learning and significantly reduces their quality of life.

Illnesses due to poor toilet sanitation include diarrhoeal disease and parasitic worm infections which can lead to nutritional deficiencies, physical and mental stunting, and death. Every day, millions of children in rural communities and urban households nationwide are exposed to these health problems by using dirty toilets populated by disease-carrying germs.

According to Dr. Luisa Efren of the Philippine Public Health Association (PPHA), the simple act of proper toilet sanitation can help prevent the spread of these germs. However, children continue to be at risk from these deadly diseases because many households still use ordinary laundry bleach to clean their toilet bowls, which is not enough to kill all toilet germs.

“A toilet that looks clean to the naked eye may not necessarily be free from germs and bacteria. So, it is very important to properly sanitize all surfaces using a germ-kill expert with proven efficacy in eliminating bacteria, and not just any ordinary laundry bleach,” Dr. Efren warned.

For the past three years, Unilever Philippines through its germ-kill expert brand Domex, has been working with UNICEF and PPHA to champion the One Million Clean Toilets Movement. This advocacy program aims to educate Filipinos on proper toilet hygiene and the need for sanitized household toilets to keep their families safe against disease-causing germs.

On November 13, World Toilet Day, join the One Million Clean Toilets Movement in the fight against disease causing germs to save lives, one clean toilet at a time. To learn more about Domex and how you can stay safe from disease with a germ-free home, visit Domex Philippines on Facebook.

Bea Binene turns 18. I was invited for a mini conference presenting her to the media as soon to be adult. Bea is very much excited for her upcoming debut, she said she is a bit stressed about her weight because she thinks she is not thin enough, but personally I think she's fine, and she looked blooming. She will be having a total of 150 guests composed of both showbiz and non-showbiz friends. she says its gonna be a reunion of sort for her long time batch mates in the business.

Bea is also included on the show "Good News" from GMA News TV channel 11 in which my husband loves to watch her. With her busy schedule, she still manages to do her job but right now she can't no longer join the crew in visiting famous spots and food trips so most of the time she is doing Voice Overs. 

Oh, who would've thought this little cutie pie is now entering the adulthood. Asked what possible changes could she be doing now that she's turning 18? Bea says, she wanted to learn how to drive and possibly be allowed to drive on her own and also to sleep in her own room. simple things that would make her adulthood a little different than the usual. But what I liked most about her is that, she knows her limitations, she knows that entering this new chapter in her life doesn't give her all the freedom most teens would want; a very well said statement. Let's all wait for the unveiling of this beauty inside and out lady as she soon will be an adult.

MANILA, Philippines - Nine in 10 Filipino consumers surveyed by global nutrition company Herbalife are “highly concerned” about the potential diseases that an unhealthy lifestyle can cause them, with the same number believing that simple lifestyle changes can help improve their overall well-being.
A good number of the respondents expressed willingness to adopt a healthy lifestyle; 79 percent said that they would cut down on unhealthy foods, 78 percent expressed their willingness to exercise more regularly, and 72 percent said they would make better nutrition choices.
“We welcome the results of the survey. It gives an understanding of Filipinos becoming even more health concious and self-aware that they need to make some lifestyle changes to improve their overall well-being. It also gives Herbalife an idea where we are needed, because as the survey revealed only four out of 10 would spend 10 to 30 minutes a day to make simple lifestyle changes,” said Rosalio Valenzuela, Herbalife Philippines General Manager.
The respondents, however, cited the following as the top obstacles to achieving a healthy lifestyle: lack of time for exercise (75 percent), lack of time to make proper nutrition choices (64 percent), and high cost of healthy food (62 percent).
The same health poll likewise showed that the top three aging-related concerns in the country were heart, brain, and eye health.

Better knowledge and understanding
“The findings from the Herbalife survey clearly show that the majority of people in Asia Pacific that we questioned believe in the value of good nutrition and exercise as contributing to their overall well-being. We aim to play a greater role in providing practical tips and information to people to help them understand that the journey to a healthier, more active lifestyle is not difficult to achieve. With as little as 10 minutes a day, consumers can take positive steps to improve their nutrition and be more active, which will improve their overall well-being,” said William M. Rahn, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Herbalife Asia Pacific.
Herbalife conducted the survey in September 2015 in the lead-up to its Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour. It surveyed 1,200 respondents across six countries, including the Philippines, on perceptions towards their health and current lifestyle. Respondents from Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Thailand were likewise included in the survey.

The symposium will gather a group of 100 doctors, nurses, physical therapists and medical practitioners. The title of the symposium is “Obesity: More Than Just Being Overweight and Nutrition Forecast for 2020.” Seminars of Dr. Heber are recognized by US hospitals as part of Continuing Education Studies, which are often required of applicants. The following day, Oct. 24, Dr. Heber will be holding seminars for thousands of Herbalife Independent Members in the same hotel.
This is the first time Dr. Heber, who is also the Chairman of the NAB and the Herbalife Nutrition Institute, to conduct a seminar in Manila since the company was founded in the Philippines 22 years ago.

For the 4th time in a row, Tupperware Brands Philippines supported World Vision Philippines in its annual running event aimed to raise funds for its Child Sponsorship Program. The huge and anticipated event spearheaded by World Vision Philippines kicked off recently at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds, with race categories ranging from 21k, 10k, 5k, 3k, and even a 500 m dash for kids. The Mall of Asia Grounds was packed and bore witness to the support of thousands of health enthusiasts, as well as partners and supporters of World Vision’s advocacy.

Since 2012, Tupperware Brands Philippines has pledged its support to World Vision’s advocacy. In fact, on their 19th anniversary, the company supported a total of 100 children in honor of its 100 outlet stores all over the country. “Tupperware Brands supports World Vision’s goal to have every child live life to the fullest while promoting an active lifestyle at the same time. Our Ate Vian, has been our baby for 5 years now, she's been our baby love and has our attention and spoiled her a bit with her favorite stuff. But with the coming of our baby boy, I was positive she'll be a very good Ate. I was not mistaken, at first she was shy to hold the baby but then she loved how we call her Ate that she actually responds more quickly than before whenever I ask her favors especially when it concerns the baby like "Ate  paki-kuha naman po yung lampin ni baby" she stands up immediately and does the task with enthusiasm. She wakes up in a good mood everyday, looking forward to see our baby boy and greets him good morning, she feels she is more responsible in doing her homework just to let baby see her write and finish them and let her know that baby is proud of her and when we tell her to look after the baby, she does it with love even making sure that baby's "duyan" is swinging while baby is sleeping.


Indeed, a bit of maturity possesed our Ate Vian when baby came home  but still we let her know that she will always be our baby girl, we are proud of her and how well she wanted to keep baby happy and helps us whenever we needed an extra little hand. Thank you Ate Vian

The Ate and The Baby


Our Ate Vian, has been our baby for 5 years now, she's been our baby love and has our attention and spoiled her a bit with her favorite stuff. But with the coming of our baby boy, I was positive she'll be a very good Ate. I was not mistaken, at first she was shy to hold the baby but then she loved how we call her Ate that she actually responds more quickly than before whenever I ask her favors especially when it concerns the baby like "Ate  paki-kuha naman po yung lampin ni baby" she stands up immediately and does the task with enthusiasm. This blog seemed quiet for sometime now, but it was because of a very good reason, I entered another life changing stage called motherhood!

As a first time mom, I was overwhelmed in balancing everything, from feeding to taking care of baby's needs, to taking care of myself and the husband as well. But I realized that I should be calm and time management is still the best solution. I did some observations on baby's sleeping habits, whenever he is hungry, what I can do during his nap time and to not panic whenever I think I can't make him stop crying. Indeed mother and child connection helps a lot.

I am currently at home and learning things as days go by, I also experienced the so called "post partum blues" maybe it was about 2 weeks that I can't understand myself, I cried, I was worried that baby was feeling my slight depression as well. From all the usual daily activities that I did back then, everything came to a halt and the baby was the top priority. I am blessed and thankful that I have my mom to actually look after our little one whenever I need to take some breather and when I'm too tired to get him to sleep. My husband on the other hand was always ready to hug and listen to my qualms and blurts out some laughs on some of my "drama" but I believe I am now ok and got through with it all.

But of course parents would want the best for their babies and as a new mom I am still on the search for products that are good, affordable and safe for our baby. So I am asking for some help from mommies  and dear readers if you can suggest tips and brands that are good for our baby. I am currently using Pampers as his diaper, Pigeon for his feeding bottle and wipes and Enfant. What other babay care products do I need to use and are a must for baby? Please do share on the comment box below. Thanks moms!

The Mister and I are certified fans of the Uniqlo clothing line. When Uniqlo was introduced here in the Philippines, we were both hesitant to check out the shop since we felt the clothes were expensive. But one day our feet fell for the bait when we saw the word SALE, of course who wouldn't go for that. It was in Eastwood, we were just looking around and then we spotted one that the husband liked and then took another one for my mom and then another and another until we realized we've got the whole family covered for our Christmas season gifts, and I super love the fact that we can ask paper bags for each so I won't have problems wrapping them. What made us decide to purchase? Quality!

Last week I was invited to witness Re-Jean by Uniqlo, so imagine my excitement, too bad I was out of town but because we super love the brand the Mister took over and attended the event even if he has to get up early and pass by the event before going to work (night shifters raise your hands). So anyway, the newest Jeans from Uniqlo are good and is worthy of the Php 2,490,price tag. Choose between Regular Fit and Slim Fit variants for men and oh so skinny-stretchy soft for women. We got one for the Mister, his prize for being my representative on the said event. So by now our wardrobe has been more of Uniqlo Lovin' and we are seriously hoarding some more.

Chef Boy Logro our Idol Sa Kusina man celebrates his 59th Birthday. A very humble man presents himself in a very cheerful manner to celebrate his day. The celebration took place in his culinary school located in Cavite, put up through his hard work and very good skills in handling his earnings. To commemorate this special day, a special cook-off challenge was one of the major activities. Students from Cavite State University were the contenders in creating their very own version of different desserts; it was all pressure to impress their judges headed by no other than Chef Boy himself. Prize at stake was a full scholarship grant from Chef Boy’s culinary school and some amazing products from sponsors for all the contenders.




Chef Boy was also serenaded by his family and close relatives and how cute his grandkids being so comfortable with their Lolo as they continue to play around him while the program continues. When all the party mood came to a more relaxed environment, we got to do some chitchat with Chef Boy. Hearing his story on how he survived the very challenging life they had back in the days made me respect him more. His humble beginnings how he managed to be brave and conquered the kitchen and until now continues to learn more and at the same time share more of his blessings not just with families but also his students. Of course growing old is part of his plans and he wanted to retire in his farm, yes he already has a farm in Davao and excitedly says how he loves the environment there and would want to grow old with his wife just relaxing and do some farming.

Chef Boy has a lot of stories to tell and an hour would not fit, but a few of what he shared made me inspired to go further and achieve more in life. Watch him do his kitchen moves on Idol Sa Kusina every Sunday 7:15 pm at GMA News TV Channel 11.

How extreme is it to be the third wheel of the famouse love tandem of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla? Amidst the challenging role, the biggest hurdle she has to face are the fans of KathNiel, how ready is she to take comments both negative and positive from the cyber world? That we will see once the camera starts rolling for this pretty lady. ( A-tapang A-babae si atey! Di sya afraidy aguilar hahaha!)

I sincerely do hope she will not be bashed just because she is the third party (wag ganun guys) but because she will do good in her acting that people will be annoyed at Beabianca perse.
