The cast of the upcoming film Nelia impressed the Korean community with their performance last November 19, at a gathering in Manila-Korea Town, at Remedios Circle, Malate, Manila. It was attended by various leaders of the Korean community in Manila, including Consul General Kyu Hu Lee of the Korean Embassy, Chairman Jae Jung Jang of the Manila-Korea Town Association, Chairman Jae Heung Byun of the United Korean Community in the Philippines, and several member of the Korean Culture Center, Korean Sports Association in the Philippines, and Peaceful Unification Advisory Council - South East Asia to inaugurate the opening of the Manila K -Town Cha Cha Cha Fest.

The three of the main cast of Nelia-- Ali Forbes, Shido Roxas, and Juan Carlos Galano -- impressed the crowd with their song numbers and entertained guests. The Korean community also welcomed the presence of veteran actor Raymond Bagatsing, who once wowed the Korean audience with his performance in a Filipino film that participated in the prestigious Busan International Film Festival in Korea in 2012.

According to the Korean community, Nelia has a huge potential to have a Korean adaptation because of its unique theme. Nelia is said to be a "daring suspense thriller," which can be compared to Korean movies such as "The Housemaid" and "Parasite," which is the first Korean film to win Best Picture at the Oscars. In fact, several Korean film production companies are currently talking to Nelia producer Atty. Aldwin Alegre of A and Q Production
Films Inc. to make a Korean adaptation or remake of the film.

We're really very happy because even though our film hasn't been released yet, the reception that people have been giving to our film is very good, especially in the Korean community. We look up to a lot of Korean films, and for them to acknowledge Nelia to be at par with them is a great honor for us. This is the only suspense thriller genre that entered the MMFF this year, so we are also excited to offer the Filipino viewers something different from the usual fare this coming Christmas," said Atty. Alegre

He also confirmed that they are already in talks with some film production companies in Korea for a possible Korean remake or adaptation of Nelia. “Yes, two production companies from Korea have already approached our team to remake Nelia. A production company from Los Angeles, California also contacted us just the other day, and they are interested in Nelia for a possible distribution in the US," he said.

Nelia stars Winwyn Marquez as the titular Nurse Nelia. The film is one of the eight official entries of the Metro Manila Film Festival that will be screened in select theaters throughout the Philippines this coming December 25.

Viral Online Seller Daisy Lopez, also known as Madam Inutz, has officially released the much-anticipated music video of her debut song titled “Inutil”. She released the official music video on her YouTube channel last Thursday, September 23.

Madam Inutz stunned the netizens with her fashionista looks in her trending music video. This video reminded the netizens of Lady Gaga although Madam Inutz is a big fan of Miley Cyrus.

Now that she is officially a recording artist, her raspy voice is perfect for novelty, rap, hip hop or rock "Tunog Kalye" genre just like the Pinoy singers who were known for their own style like Aegis, Sampaguita or Up Dharma Down. Her musical influence were her idols Aegis and Miley Cyrus. Her inspiration when it comes to singing are Janine Berdin, Aegis, Sampaguita,

Miley Cyrus, Cardi B, Nikki Minaj.

Madam Inutz is very professional and fast learner. She knows how to give the melody to the song and doesn't mind the long working hours for as long as she can deliver well and can produce the right song. The shoot for her music video was taken till dawn but she never complained and was still all-smiles and full of energy.

The preparations of Madam Inutz for her debut single was not a joke. She took it by heart, for days she didn't drink cold water and she didn't even shout the way she used to during her online selling so that she can modulate her voice once she started recording. She studied the lyrics and even analyzed it if it's suits her personality. Madam Inutz is indeed born to be a singer because she enjoyed what she was doing and she didn't find the whole process difficult plus she can very well relate to the lyrics of the song.

Daisy Lopez couldn't be more thankful to Wilbert Tolentino, her manager, for giving her the biggest break and an amazing opportunity that not everybody can get especially at her age, she said. According to her, there are a lot more younger and talented aspiring singers out there but here she is, launching her debut single. She feels honored and forever grateful to Wilbert because never in her wildest dream that she think she would have gone this far. All these years, she was just working hard as an online seller for her family especially her bed-ridden mother and now that the opportunity is here, she will not pass it up and would do her best.

The inspiration behind the song "Inutil"

Ryan Soto composed the song for Madam Inutz and before he did, he made sure that the genre, words and melody are perfect for her personality. The inspiration would be Aegis style or Sampaguita in a novelty style since she was best known for her catch phrases like "Inutil", "gunggong", "oh jiiieva" and more which is why he made it sure that he will use it for her debut single for recognition and a seal of her own identity.

This is what the whole song is all about, her life as an online seller, her struggles in life and some frustrating moments when no one is buying from her and they're just making fun of her online. The song also reflects her life in Tondo and Cavite. "Inutil" is also perfect for the masang Pinoy since everyone can sing and dance with it and the lyrics is very easy to memorize.

We all know that a lot of netizens enjoyed watching her online live selling which gained thousands of watchers and was even anticipated and watched by a lot of showbiz personalities but not all are amused, some were offended by her bad words and Madam Inutz said she can't please everybody which is why she always warned those who are watching not to let their kids watch her and she hopes they can just let her do her live selling because this is what she does for a living and also for the medical treatment of her ill mother.

Wilbert Tolentino has a lot of plans for Madam Inutz aka Daisy Lopez,  she is very hard working, responsible and listens carefully to all of his advices and instructions, he knows that her career will sail smoothly as well as their partnership and friendship. They trust each other that much and will work side by side to achieve success.

He plans on making her a Brand Ambassador of Online Sellers and he wanted her to learn more about Entrepreneurship so that she can invest and make her business grow while making her way to the Entertainment Industry. He plans on making her name a staple in showbiz so expect more projects for her in the future and lastly, for her to be a famous Vlogger and that her YouTube account will be successful.

INUTIL is now available via Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal, Vevo, Tiktok, Youtube Music, Beatport, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitch, Shazam, iTunes, Facebook, iTunesRadio, and other online kusic streaming sites. Don't forget to watch the official video and subscribe to Daisy Lopez YouTube account!

Manila, Philippines – The Department of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Service Institute along with Philippine Archipelago international Trading Corporation presented a webinar featuring prominent figures in Traditional Chinese Medicine which was instrumental in the pandemic management in China.

The webinar, entitled “Learning from the China Experience – Control and Surge Prevention”, featured prominent Chinese medical figures such as Academician Zhang Boli, Honorary President of the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and recipient of the national honorary title of People’s Hero in August 2020 & Dr. Jia Zhenhua, Chief Physician of TCM, Doctoral Supervisor and President of Hebei Institute of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine.

On the Philippine side, guests were able to listen talks from two of the most important figures in our fight against COVID-19 – National Task Force Deputy Chief Implementor and Testing Czar Secretary Vince Dizon & NTF Contact Tracing Czar and Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.

The program started with a few words from Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Hon. Teodoro Locsin, Jr.  During this address he thanked the co-presenters, the Chinese diplomatic core and the distinguished guests and speakers. He also set the stage of our current COVID-19 situation stating over 4 Million deaths and 186 Million infections and counting globally. “This webinar highlights knowledge sharing as one of if not the most essential form of cooperation in managing COVID-19.  The slogan is:  No one is safe unless everyone is safe.” he said.

The first speaker, Mayor Benjamin Magalong discussed the case study of Baguio City and how it navigated through the pandemic. He discussed how proactive contact tracing efforts and control efforts enabled them to control spreads, something he likened to a Hammer & Dance situation. More importantly, he discussed the importance of the PDITR strategy, which is Prevent, Detect, Isolate, Treat, and Reintegrate strategy. This strategy simple cuts off transmission chain. He added how vital cooperation was to the efficacy of all preventive and control efforts, not only to Baguio City. The implementation of a top-down, side-to-side, and bottom-up approach basically ensures that the paramount objective of having a proper communication and information dissemination to the entire community, involving all sectors of society, is met. Towards the end of his presentation, he touched on the city’s Recovery and Resiliency Plan as well as their goal of becoming a Smart City by 2022.

Secretary Vince Dizon reported on the National Vaccination Program. He thanked the Chinese foreign service representatives for their continuous supplies of Chinese vaccines which to date is still the country’s most largest supplier of COVID-19 Vaccines at 11 million procured doses plus 1 million donated. He had also thanked Philippine Archipelago International Trading Corporation President, Olivia Limpe-Aw, as EUA Holder of Sputnik V Vaccines, for the continuous supply of the vaccine.

Dr. Jia Zhenhua then moved on to discussing the utilization of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the prevention and treatment of respiratory infectious disease in China. During his talk, he broke down COVID-19 based on Collateral Disease Theory and discussed how this is treated through the approach of Traditional Chinese medicine. One treatment of note that was mentioned was Lianhua Qingwen capsule, already widely used and distributed in major drugstores in the Philippines.

Academician Zhang Boli, one of the most prominent figures in China’s fight against COVID-19 begins his presentation explaining why COVID, to him, is considered the “Plague of the Century.” He expounded by showing data driven effects and evolution of the virus. After his brief introduction on the effects and symptoms of Covid in China, he stressed how preventive measures were executed. He discussed the importance of early intervention to reduce severe conversion rate and the integration of Chinese and Western medicine with comprehensive rehabilitation treatment such as breathing training, physical therapy, Taichi etc. , psycho-therapy to prevent after effects of the Covid-19 infection such as physical injury (damage to immune function, heart, lung and kidney) and psychological trauma such as insomnia, anxiety and depression. He had also introduced Xuanfei Baidu Decoction, another traditional Chinese medicine widely used in China’s fight against COVID-19. He had earlier stressed the importance of medication. “Quarantine without medicine is only half the success,” he said through an interpreter. Academician Zhang Boli shared how they shared this knowledge with the world through donations of traditional Chinese medicine, Lianhua Qingwen to different countries. Exchange of knowledge (like this webinar) were also done in other countries.

Vaccination is very important but even when vaccinated we should not forget the usual daily personal and household prevention measures and emotion management – keep positive, avoid anxiety and have a healthy lifestyle.

Philippine Archipelago International Trading Corporation President, Olivia Limpe-Aw, started to close the webinar by thanking the speakers as well as the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Foreign Service Institute who spearheaded this webinar.  She summarized the webinar and drew the conclusion that there are definitely similarities in terms of experiences, government policies and values of both countries. In fact, significant learnings gathered from all panelists cover early intervention, quarantine with medication is key, integration of Chinese and western medicine with rehabilitation treatment all help to increase curative rate and reduce mortality rate.

Learning that there are two other TCM to treat COVID-19 aside from Lianhua Qingwen is something new to us so it has expanded our knowledge on TCM and that there are other options that we hope will be available in the Philippines in the next few months since it looks like COVID-19 isn't going to be over that easily, so we will have to deal with it -manage, mitigate so we can all move on and bring back normalcy to our lives.

This webinar was attended by Ambassadors, local government officials, health officers, hospital administrators, health workers and the media

Over the past year, working from home has gone from the exception to the norm. The convenience of foregoing hours stuck in traffic, as well as being safe from the pandemic, directly translates to increased happiness, efficiency, and productivity. Consumers were quick to transition at home. However, not all setups were conducive as a workspace. One of the biggest issues that arose was the requirement for proper computer monitors. One of the segments that grew the most over the past year has been monitors. According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), in the 4thquarter of 2020, the monitor market grew 16.9% year over year with shipments surpassing 39.2 million units worldwide.

LG Electronics, always at the forefront of innovation, has seen this surge and developed new line of monitors that improve upon existing technology in order to help users even more. Whether you’re a hardcore gamer, a budding streamer, or just working from home, LG has a monitor that’s perfect for you. They provide a wide variety of improved features from breathtaking colors, fast response time, to clearer images to enhance customer’s experience.

To introduce the new line of monitors to the local market, LG Electronics Philippines hosted the LG Monitors: Performance Beyond Boundaries livestream event on their social media channel to showcase what the new displays are all about. This was hosted by LG brand ambassador Luis Manzano and featured several other influencers who have had experienced the new line of monitors, namely actor and director Joross Gamboa, photographer Magic Liwanag, and gamer, cosplayer, and content creator Myrtle Sarrosa.

L-R: LG Philippines Managing Director Sungjae Kim, LG Monitors Brand Ambassador Luis Manzano, LG Philippines Product Director for Monitors Peter Uhm

Stop Alt-tabbing and start viewing side-by-side. HDR10 brings work and virtual worlds to life, backed by up to 350 nits of brightness. This display tech elevates textures, elements, character movements and natural light and shadow. The 3-side virtually borderless design with slim bezels will give you a wider view of your screen. For gaming, it has an AMD FreeSync technology eliminates the tearing difference between the graphics card’s frame rate and monitor’s refresh rate. Joross Gamboa admired the versatility of the LG UltraWide™. “LG monitors give you the flexibility to adapt to situations as it happens. Whether it’s for work or for leisure, LG UltraWide™ will get the job done for you.”

LG’s technologically and ergonomically advanced stand helps to promote good posture through its high degree of adjustability, enabling each user to create a perfectly customized workstation. LG's UHD IPS Display features realistic, true color, enhanced contrast, clarity and detail at wide angles. UHD 4K resolution presents breathtaking clarity and fine detail with four times the resolution of Full HD. In particular, HDR delivers a more dramatic, dynamic visual immersion experience. Magic Liwanag was ecstatic about the color rendition that the LG UltraFine monitor offers. “The 4K IPS display delivers a comfortable viewing experience by reducing color shift from different vantage points. After shooting, editing, and printing, all the colors are correct.”

LG UltraGear line of monitors lets you pave the way to victory crisp visuals, fast response time, and the sharpest clarity. If you’re fed up with dimming and flickering screens, you’ve come to the right monitor. With IPS 1ms Gray to Gray you’ll dominate and clinch victory-without the side effects of extreme speed. It is NVIDIA-tested and officially verified G-Sync® Compatible monitor, reducing screen tearing and minimizing stutter for a smoother, faster gaming experience. Objects are rendered more clearly for smoother gameplay and an almost surreal visual fluidity. Being able to see even the most dynamic and fast-moving objects amidst all the action can give gamers a competitive edge. IPS display with 99% of the sRGB provides outstanding color accuracy and wider viewing angle, so it delivers high-fidelity color for reproducing even more vivid scenes on the battlefield. With a connection to an HDR-capable console (Xbox One S / PS4 Pro) or HDR-supported graphics card, users will enjoy punchier brightness and highlights with deeper shadows and silhouettes. Myrtle Sarrosa gushed about how her LG UltraGear™ monitors have helped level up her gameplay. “It virtually eliminates screen tearing and stuttering. Dynamic Action Sync elevates your gameplay for a pro-level experience.”

For the standard monitor, LG still delivers. LG Monitor with IPS Full HD Display technology highlights the performance of liquid crystal displays. Response times are shortened, color reproduction is improved, and users can view the screen at wide angles. This display has slim bezel on three sides and doesn't interfere with dazzling precision, which allows you to create an optimized work environment through convenient tilt adjustment. It offers an ergonomic design. Its convenient tilt adjustments with clean uni-body design allow you to create an optimized work environment. Eye strain is reduced thanks to the Flicker safe technology, Reader mode, and Color weakness feature. Luis Manzano was also impressed with his LG Standard monitor. “This has everything you could want in a modern monitor – it’s full HD, it has a borderless design, ergonomic, and has the eye comfort features. If you want a dedicated work monitor at home, you can’t go wrong with this.”

Sungjae Kim, LG Philippines Managing Director, said “As the whole world made an abrupt pivot into working from home, the need to provide monitors that deliver results and promise productivity was crucial. The latest series of monitors deliver superior productivity and entertainment experiences and are perfect for both home and office use. LG is committed to provide the most practical and advanced products that meet the daily needs of users.”

To end the livestream event, Peter Uhm, LG Philippines Product Director for Monitors, shared the brand’s newest plan to push products for the holiday season. “We hope that the introduction of these new monitors to the local market will help in boosting productivity as working from home becomes the norm. We are currently running a 3 month long celebration of all things LG with the LG Life's Good Festival. LG Goes Beyond Boundaries With New Monitor Line

LG UltraWide™ monitors lets you immerse in everything from content creation to gaming. See a panoramic view made possible by the extra wide 21:9 IPS display for true color accuracy at wide angles. Experience easier multitasking, quickly switch between applications and enjoy a full, unencumbered view. It offers 33% more screen space than a regular 16:9 aspect ratio.

The UltraFine Display Ergo has a flexible ergonomic stand that can be adapted to all the environmental chacracteristics of each user, including physical attributes. It can improve not only work productivity and efficiency, but also user’s convenience.

We will be raffling off over 1 million Pesos worth of products so we hope you will join us in the festivities.”
