Bride For Rent | 280M and a Victory Party

For film outfits, a Victory Party means a successful movie and 280M means Box Office Hit and that goes out to "Bride For Rent".

The cast, crew and big bosses held a victory party specifically for the movie Bride For Rent which up until now people are still watching and still running on its third week plus International screenings were already announced for Australia, Canada and USA.

During their thank you speech, Kim got teary-eyed thanking everyone for the success, she especially dedicated her thank you to her mom in heaven, she said she knows that her mom has been guiding her even before on their first movie which is "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo."

Before this event day, there was a commotion online from the KimXI fans and it reached actually in some parts of the world wherein they also have fans. A soon to be TV teleserye is coming where Kim will be a part of it but this time it is no longer with Xian, the casts include Jake Cuenca, Coco Martin and Julia Montes. So imagine the rage of their fans that after a successful movie why would their team up be broken. Netizens and supporters stated their disbelief and anger on this said announcement that was their initial reaction but eventually they calmed down and expressed their full support and love for Kim.

But today during the victory party, it was announced that the management is already cooking up another movie for both Kim Chiu and Xian Lim, so see, it is true that when a door closes, a window will definitely open. Oh happy night for KimXi fans!

She's Dating The Gangster #SDTG will be top billed by Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla (KathNiel) fans, went wild online and immediately the hashtag #SDTG trended. Summit Media and Star Cinema signed a contract yesterday for the making of this book into a movie. It was also announced that teen king and queen heartthrobs Daniel and Kathryn will be top billing this project. Though not yet sure if there will be alterations for the movie title from "The" to "A" but based on the Instagram post of Star Cinema AdProm Manager Sir Mico del Rosario it's "She's Dating A Gangster." Oh well, we'll just have to wait and see, but for sure whatever they will come up with, KathNiel fans are in full support.

Marion Aunor joins the Star Magic Family

After winning third place in last years’ Star Record’s Himig Handog P-pop Love Songs with her song “If You Ever Changed Your Mind,” Marion Aunor was launched into the consciousness of music-loving Pinoys worldwide. This 2014, Marion joins Star Magic (Talent Management) and is set to make a mark in the music industry via her self-titled debut album under Star Records.

“Marion Aunor” the album, already had a soft-launching last year in September at Glorietta and A.Venue, Makati, this year she will be officially presented on “ASAP 19” on January 26. The album contains 12 tracks which includes six original songs and six covers. Yes! She writes her own songs and that the original music on her album is mostly based on her personal experiences and that of the people around her.

Marion is very grateful that she was given the freedom to include her original compositions in her album and was given a say in terms of cover songs’ arrangements. She hopes that people will get to relate with her songs and says that in her album, there is a song for everyone, no matter what age they are in.

Marion Aunor’s self-titled album under Star Records is available in record bars nationwide.

Miss Rachelle: The Send Off Concert of Rachelle Ann Go

Rachelle Ann Go, now another Philippine pride will soon be leaving our country for London to fulfill one of her dreams to be included in one of the most known musical plays; Miss Saigon. But before that, we were invited to have a pocket interview with her after the photo shoot for her upcoming concert, yes she will have one, her personal choice which has the title "Miss Rachelle: The Send Off Concert" which will be held at the Meralco Theater on February 22. Rachelle talked about feeling excitement and nervous for Miss Saigon, excited because she has achieved one of her dreams in theater and nervous at the same time because she will be living by herself and admits she doesn't know much on household chores, but she sees this as a new and positive learning for her life.

Rachelle is also looking forward to celebrate her send off concert with her friends, Erik Santos, Christian Bautista and Sarah Geronimo and hopes that schedules permit so they can all be together on that night. Because she will be out for about a year, her contracts with current network (GMA) will be on hold and as for VIVA, they will talk about it when she gets back.

Concert song line ups are mostly composed of ballads, love songs and her favorite musicals. She wants that this concert will be more about singing her heart, more of her voice rather than her past concerts which were mixed with dance and production numbers. This is like serenading her concert goers. So again Miss Rachelle: The Send Off Concert is on February 22 at the Meralco Theater, check Ticket World for reservations.

Paraiso Ko'y Ikaw | GMA's newest offering

GMA and  GMA Artist Center opens their 2014 with a Blogger's Conference for their up coming tele serye offering "Paraiso Ko'y Ikaw" which stars the very refreshing cast of  Joyce Ching, Kim Rodriguez, Kristoffer Martin and Phytos Ramirez. Personally, I am interested on how the story will go about since we have these new faces conquering our television sets. I am most familiar with Joyce Ching, and I admire her chinita beauty, if you don't know her personally, you might think that she's "masungit", that's why her role here in Paraiso Ko'y Ikaw suits her on a physical aspect, but in reality she's soft spoken and bubbly. It is my first time to have met Kim Rodriguez, Kristoffer Martin and Phytos Ramirez, that's why at first, I was shy to talk to them but here are my immediate impressions of them during the quick chat. Kim is a Filipina beauty, no doubt about it: the height, body type, the hair and the talent, perfect package. Kristoffer, very lively and fun to talk with especially about the topic of "confidence" in terms of possible showing his body for future Cosmo Hunk. And Phytos, he is charming, or could be the boy next door type. Super fun chatting with them.

Paraiso Ko'y Ikaw is a roller coaster of scenes and emotions about family, friends and of course love. We all have to watch out on how the story would transpire, this is exciting indeed. And we don't have to wait any longer because Paraiso Ko'y Ikaw will start this coming January 27, 2014 before 24Oras (news). Let's all support this newest teleserye of these four lovely teens, have a refreshing new year start!

Bride For Rent | Blogger's Conference

After the major success of Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo (BHKCNCM), Kim Chiu and Xian Lim will once again conquer the big screen in their latest movie offering Bride For Rent. I was one of those who watched BHKCNKM through a block screening invitation of Kim Chiu Global (KCG fans club - thank you!) and I must admit it was a very refreshing role for Kim, she indeed made me laugh and KimXi made me "kilig", yes, that night I remembered, I was giggling with KCG.

So opening 2014 is another KImXi story, I felt excited during the blogcon seeing them together and feeling their good vibes. It is indeed a brand new year especially for Kim who has gone through so much from the previous year, I think she has it, that cute way and simple comedic "banat" that made us laugh during the event. Writer Carmi Raymundo and Director Mae Cruz both agrees that Kim and Xian did very good in this movie and their contributions were a big factor on why this flick will surely make moviegoers feel good and they are very sure that it will be worth their time and money.

Bride For Rent will be showing on January 15, 2014 in cinemas nationwide, I am personally predicting that this will surely be another hit for the KimXi team up. Also, Kim and Xian would like to thank all their fans who continues to support and love them.

For those of you who were confused of what the real plan is for the upcoming Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, here is the official statement coming from the Philippine Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (PIHABF) committee.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE PHILIPPINE INTERNATIONAL HOT AIR BALLOON FIESTA (PIHABF) ORGANIZING COMMITTEE

MANILA, Philippines – The organizers of the longest running balloon event in Asia – the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (PIHABF): “A Weekend of Everything that Flies,” maintains its decision not to hold the 19^th PIHABF this year, but instead, prepare for a bigger event scheduled for February 12-15, 2015.

Amidst reports of a balloon event taking place in Clark, Pampanga in April 2014, spearheaded by Mr. Ronnie Tiotuico of the Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Office, the PIHABF Organizing Committee has issued the following statement:

Preparation for the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is a major undertaking.

The decision not to hold a Fiesta this year was not undertaken lightly. From the perspective of the PIHABF organizers, our 2013 event (featuring more balloons than ever, the highly impressive Breilting Jet Acrobatic Team, and the myriad of other flying, ground and static events) would be a hard act to follow without allowing sufficient time to plan, prepare and book new and interesting activities.

We believe that by suspending the 2014 Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, allowing our organizing committee more time to secure a suitable venue for the fiesta and investing more time in planning, securing sponsorships and implementing enhancements, we can offer our public spectators a truly safe and world-class event in 2015.

The summer weather is not suitable in hot air balloon safety.

PIHABF will not be part of the April 2014 event in Clark, Pampanga. We will not participate in the planning, organization or staging of the event. Safety concerns raised by PIHABF pending approval of CAAP for ‘The Philippine International Friendship Balloon Festival 2014’

We hope that the organizers of the April 2014 event, headed by Mr. Ronnie Tiotuico, have carefully looked into the many safety requirements and issues involved in staging an event of this scale. PIHABF is concerned that the length of time allocated for them to learn the processes and preparations for this kind of activity is too short. We also hope they are not misrepresenting their expertise in implementing an airshow to prospective sponsors, participants and especially the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

The PIHABF organizers have worked hard to develop operational and safety procedures.  With an admirable safety record, we have built trust with event participants and other valued partners.  We value this reputation, built on a foundation of 20 years of experience. 

We recognize that the balloon fiesta is an activity that the international aviation community looks forward to.  Any untoward incident would impact on the good name of PIHABF organizers and damage the reputation of the Philippines.

We assure the public that we are already working hard on the planning and preparation for a bigger and even better 19^th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in 2015.  We are excited for everyone to be a part of it.

Better Blog for 2014!

Yes! A better blog, that is my wish for chubbychitchat.com. Don't get me wrong the past year was all good but it was a bit lazy on my end, I hate that I did have to write some articles with mixed thoughts and had the feel of "may maisulat lang". This time around I will push myself harder to write more meaningful ones, the kind of writing that I will be proud to share with my family and friends and would let my readers feel it too.

I hope I would be able to adhere to this and be a better writer and author of this blog...

Figlia | My Beautiful Sole Shoe Design Contest

Shoes! Having them is like having treasures. Do you dream to create your very own pair of shoes? And possibly seeing them on shoe racks in department stores? Imagine creating one with everything that you wanted, from the design, the sole, to the intricate details if you feel you can and you have the passion and creativity to do so, here is something you would not want to miss.

Figlia, one of the Philippines proud shoe company is looking for young shoe designers to join their shoe making contest, maybe this is the big break you've been waiting for, here is the mechanics.


Mechanics:

ELIGIBILITY:

Contest is open to all legal residents of the Philippines at least high school student. When submitting entries, entrants must submit a government-issued identification card. A photocopy of any of the following valid identification card with photo that may be used as proof (birth certificate, passport, postal ID, or any valid government ID).

Employees of Charter International Inc. and the participating outlets (Shubizz Greenhills, Shubizz Southmall and Shubizz Fairview) including their relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity of affinity are disqualified from joining the promotion.

How To's:

1. The theme of the shoe design contest is self-expression—My Beautiful Sole. Create a shoe using materials of your choice comply with the theme.

2. Go to Figlia’s website (www.charterinc.ph) and navigate to the Promos tab for the official entry form.

3. Print the official entry form and accomplish it. Include your name, contact information and documentation with it as well. For participants with mentors or teachers, identify them in your entry form for they too will have the chance to win special prizes. 

4. Entries must be submitted on or before *January 31, 2014 at the Figlia Head Office (20th Flr. Centerpoint Bldg., Julia Vargas Ave., Ortigas Center, Pasig City) or drop in drop boxes located at Figlia branches (Shubizz Greenhills, Shubizz Southmall and Shubizz Fairview). 

Each entry must include the following: 

1. A sketch studies of your work. 

2. An actual prototype of your designed shoes (created with any of your selected materials) 

3. submit along with the prototype (a) JPEG or PNG file of the step- by- step documentation process of the entry construction (with at least 6 photos of the documentation process compiled in 11 x 8.5 inch image size) OR (b)  MP4 or AVI video documentation (minimum of  2 mins and maximum of 6 mins documentation presentation) burned in a CD. 

Only one (1) entry per person is allowed. By submitting an entry, contestants acknowledge compliance with these contest rules, guidelines & conditions including all eligibility requirements.

5. Entries will be judged by Joey Enriquez of Figlia Couture and a special set of celebrity guest judges on February 14, 2014, 3-5 pm at the SM Atrium 5th Flr. Bridgeway.

6. A fab-load of prizes including a brand new Wacom design tablet awaits the grand winner! Two runners up will also be selected and awarded! A participant can only win once, If a name wins more than once, he/ she gets the price of higher value.

LG Electronics Installs Solar Panels in Tacloban

LG ELECTRONICS CONTINUES COMMUNITY REHABILITATION SUPPORT

With the pledge to help rebuild the communities affected by Yolanda, global technology innovator LG Electronics installed LG Solar Panels in the areas of Tacloban.

LG Philippines’ managing director Sung Woo Nam was among the group that visited the areas and facilitated the safe and strategic installations.  Installation areas in Tacloban included Tolosa Elementary School and Tanauan High School.

In Manila, the LGEPH employees packed numerous relief goods to send to the destinations.  Instead of celebrating their 25th anniversary with a grand Christmas party, the employees gathered together to make their own contributions to aid those in need.

“It has been over a month since Yolanda hit the nation, and it is disheartening to see how much Tacloban is still in need of help,” Mr. Nam shared.  “Even with the outpour of generosity and kindness from the rest of the world, there is still a lot that needs to be done.  We are hoping that the electricity-generating LG Solar Panels will be able to shine a bit of light on their lives.”

The installation of LG Solar Panels was executed in cooperation with the Department of Energy.  The use of solar power can light 40 LED bulbs for nine hours, activate 30 mobile charger units for 24 hours, and switch on five LED TVs for five hours.  Solar power generation is one of the most environment-friendly renewable sources of electricity, and leading manufacturer LG guarantees to sustain it.
