Same Blood, Different Talents, All Music.
We are the future, and nothing can stop us
Bringing FUN back to OPM

SOLABROS.com are brothers. Born and raised in the urban neighborhood of Mandaluyong City, Philippines, they are the children of multi-talented, multi awarded musician Jerome Abalos. Jerome was the singer behind the monster hit song “Larawang Kupas.” He was also the co-founder and front man of the 90s thrash metal band “Death By Stereo” and progressive rock band “Majesty.”

Jerome Abalos released 3 solo albums and 2 studio albums with his band. Death by Stereo’s self titled debut album was certified gold record while his solo self-titled debut album featuring the monster hit song, LARAWANG KUPAS, was a certified platinum.

Nurtured by music from the moment they were conceived, Sean, Zack, and Shane grew up with the melodic sound of the keyboards, the ripping sound of heavy metal guitar solos, and the thunder-like beat of drums and percussions. Raised and mentored by a multi-talented, multi genre musical artist of a father and fueled by their mutual interest in rock and roll, heavy metal, progressive rock, and alternative rock, Solabros.com can be considered as one of the rising stars in the Philippines, be it local or in international music scene.

The band was formed in 2015 by singer, songwriter, and keyboard player Sean Abalos and his younger brother, lead guitarist and singer Zachary Jeymz. From the moment Sean and Zack held their instruments and started playing, it was clear that they had a future in the local and international music scene. The band was soon joined by the band’s drummer Shane Steven, the youngest of the Abalos brothers, who gave the band his powerful Lars Ulrich-like drumming style. “Initially, we just wanted to be a band,” recalled Sean. “But when Shane officially joined us and started making all those power beats and double basses, our paradigm shifted and our aspiration changed overnight. We now wanted, not just to
be any band, we now wanted to be among the best bands locally and overseas.”

Though with different personalities, Sean, Zack, and Shane’s talents blended and clicked. In 2016, Solabros.com joined their first “Battle of the Bands,” their first public appearance. Since then, the trio had regular gigs in several bars in Manila and Luzon.

Sean Francis Abalos (vocals, keyboards)
He is currently finishing his bachelor’s degree at Jose Rizal University in Mandaluyong City.

After harnessing his God-given singing talent, Sean was trained on keyboardsand has been loving his new skill ever since.

Zachary Jeymz Abalos (guitars, vocals)
He was exposed to music at a very young age. He is a currently in junior high school.

With the encouragement of his dad, Zack trained himself to play the guitar, starting with acoustic, he leveled up almost overnight and has since mastered the electric guitar.

At only 16 years old, and only a year of playing, Zack has become a guitar phenom. His skills were way beyond his years.

Shane Steven Abalos (drums, vocals)
The youngest of the Abalos brothers. At 14 years old, Shane is currently a freshman in high school.

With his passion for drums and percussion, Shane was initially trained to play the drums by his father. Shane focused with his training and has dramatically improved his drums and vocals skills.

At only 14 years old and
only a year of playing, Shane can now be considered a drummer par excellence.

For the longest time, the global fast-food scene has one strict rule for beef patties: they only belong between burger buns.

But in a country like the Philippines, a meal can never be considered a proper one without our favorite grain: rice. Most of the local dishes go well with a serving of white rice and a splash of flavorful sauce or broth.

In 1995, Jollibee—the country’s top fast-food chain and proud homegrown Pinoy brand—brought together a fast-food favorite and a Pinoy staple to create a new classic offering: the Burger Steak. Made with 100% beef patty seasoned to suit Pinoy tastes, drizzled with a flavorful mushroom gravy (a time-tested flavor pairing used the world over: beef and mushroom), and served with white rice, the Burger Steak was an instant hit for diners looking for their kanin-and-ulam fix.

“The Jollibee Burger Steak was inspired by something that many Pinoys know to be true: a flavor-packed, saucy ulam served with steamed white rice really hits the spot,” said Cathleen Capati, Jollibee Core Category Marketing Director. “But that’s the beauty of that idea. It seemed so simple, but nobody else did that over twenty years ago. For me, Jollibee only proved that we truly know and understand the Pinoy palate.”

Today, the Burger Steak remains to be a consistent Jollibee best-seller, with hundreds and hundreds of meals sold each day in 1,000 Jollibee stores nationwide. The rich classic flavors that this dish delivers is just one reason for its enduring popularity, as the fact that it has remained very affordable for over two decades continues to attract customers, too.

“Aside from the Burger Steak delivering a truly beefy-linamnam, saucy-sarap dining experience every time, it delivers great value, too,” added Ms. Capati. “For only 50 pesos, you get delicious ulam and rice for a truly satisfying meal.”

Experience the beefy-linamnam and saucy-sarap goodness of the Burger Steak for yourself today. The Jollibee Burger Steak is available for dine-in, take-out, delivery, and drive-thru transactions, with prices starting at P50.00* for the Solo Meal.

For more information on your classic Jolly favorites, like www.facebook.com/JollibeePhilippines or follow @Jollibee on Twitter and Instagram.

* Prices may vary across different locations.

Hello mga misis, today's Filipino Food ulam is Giniling! This Pinoy ulam is special for me kasi favorite ito ni Tatay. A little trivia, some years ago nung jowa levels pa lang kami ni Tatay, I asked him what is his favorite ulam, He answered, he can eat Giniling everyday. Ayun na mga marse, pag uwi ko, mega ask ako sa Tita ko na magaling magluto to cook giniling the next day so I can watch. A bit tiring ang preparation, mega tadtad ng vegetables but then the end product is worth it.

Here's how I cook Tatay's favorite Giniling, please watch:

Hi friends, here's another feature on the Cooking Misis.

Last weekend, 2nd Avenue invited me for a cooking class, and for the love of cooking of course I said I will be there. It was held at the Mushrooms Kitchen School inside Valle Verde 5. The place is just enough for a whole class. I love the set-up, the Chef's table is fully equipped with a TV monitor for students to easily see what is being done in front.

Everyone got excited know that what we'll be doing was Japanese Cuisine. When the recipe papers were handed over, I giggled out of excitement. We will be cooking Japanese Rice, Tempura, California Maki and Chicken Tempura for the whole afternoon. I was enjoying the whole time following instructions from our Chef instructor, no pressure, she was so patient and goes around to check and give tips especially on the Tempura. All the hard work was worth it because we finally created our own Bento Box with all our dishes.

I can describe it as an afternoon of cooking with friends, and we were totally happy with the results. Authentic Japanese Cuisine made by us. Super proud of myself for pulling this off and excited to try it at home.

Sharing with you my video blog about the event. Enjoy!

Kidzoona is the best play place so far that is toddler and budget friendly. So I thought we could have a playdate together with my "Kumare's" and their toddlers too. This was our first and plans to do it every month and adding some more friends from our previous company where we all got to know each other.

Here's a quick tour of the Kidzoona play area and a few tips about the place. Enjoy the video!

In this day and age, movie makers would rather go with a safe category  and one that will ensure good ticket sales. Often times movies should have a "love team" in it or a teen group, anything that the millennials would love. There's nothing wrong with that because piracy is everywhere and production outfits just wanted to make sure that their hard work is paid off as well.

So when I was invited to the press conference of "Double Barrel" I was a bit surprised that it is an action film. But was impressed on how brave they are to pursue the movie making. And they are all positive that action films can still be a hit even through these times. "Double Barrel" stars Jeric Raval, Phoebe Walker and AJ Muhlach. Joining the cast is a newbie in the showbiz world but is still famous by name - Ali Khatibi; yes he is the better half of my personal bet as the winner of the defunct reality show "I Can Do That" Cristine Reyes-Khatibi.

I admit, I am more curious of who Ali is in person and what's his take on showbiz life. Also, did Cristine instantly allow his entering showbizness? Find out more with our quick interview with Ali during the presscon on the video below:

As much as I want to not introduce my son to gadgets, let's face it, there's no way we can escape. They see us and other children using phones or iPads/tablets, thus they would also want one. Our little boy now 2 years old has a Chery Mobile phone for his offline youtube videos. We don't want him to go online even if its youtube kids because he wants to watch all of the videos non-stop. At least with offline he only has a few and will get tired of it, then he stops and plays with his toys again.

I stumbled upon a Facebook post of a mom sharing her story of what happened to her child because of the excessive use of gadgets. Take your time to read and learn something out of their experience.

FYI: I asked permission for this to be posted

Partly yes!

Now, back to Mikaylas case.. after CT scan, X-ray, EEG at MRI, all result are negative.. ALMOST normal.. why almost normal?
