A lot of modern smartphones are adopting biometric security features in an effort to gather more users and patrons to support their brand. Vivo is no different and has pushed the envelope when it comes to innovation. Just recently at the Consumer Electronics Show or CES 2018, dubbed as the global stage for innovation, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, Vivo took the spotlight as it introduced the world-first under-display fingerprint scanner in its smartphone. This ultra-modern technology simply registers a user’s uniquely patterned epidermis, and just like in futuristic movies, the screen would weave a pattern of blue light and the phone is instantly accessed.

Vivo’s new innovation, the world’s first under – display fingerprint scanner
Vivo’s smartphone security features are just as impressive and cutting-edge. The Face ID feature of Vivo is less complex than other smartphone brands’ security specs, merely using its 24MP camera for facial recognition. But this facial recognition security feature is not to be underestimated as it works remarkably well. Vivo face access technology quickly detects up more than 100 different facial identification points, more than enough for one to say that we truly now live in the future. The feature checks the depth or the user’s facial features which provides for a more precise, more effectual security access.

Lastly, Vivo smartphones also employ the good old fingerprint scanner under its hood, located at the back just within a convenient reach of the index finger. This feature which works well and fast and maybe activated alongside the Face ID feature.

With its stonewall security, Vivo smartphones are not only efficient and affordable but are also revolutionary and innovative. Vivo cares about its users, pushing the brand to constantly innovate and improve user experience. Vivo maintains seven research and development centers and continuously improves their products.

No plans yet on where to go for a Valentines Date? There will be several Valentine concerts happening in the metro and here's one I highly recommend. The Ai Heart U Valentine Concert by the one and only Comedy Concert Queen Ms AiAi delas Alas. Ms Ai told us during the Blogger's Conference that aside from her song and dance numbers, she will be doing some high tech stuff that guests will truly enjoy. And of course there will be a lot of costume changes as she has been known for and will still wear her sexy ones. The very special guest will be Piolo Pascual and knowing Ms Ai from her previews concerts, she can be very naughty so we asked if she will still do those stints now that she is already married. Her answer was "She'll do it in a lighter eay and just more on teasing". But for sure it will be another great night of laughter and enjoyment.

The concert will be on February 14th, 8pm at the Palacio De Maynila. For tickets you may call SM Tickets at 470-2222

It is a refreshing take to have a blogcon with Ms Sylvia Sanchez in the panel. Ms Sylvia was very passionate about the movie because she is also a mom and a very supportive one same as her role as Mama Mina in the movie. The trailer seems to all about crying and the struggles of a mother-daughter relationship but there is an absolute twist to it and that is why we have to watch.

This is not just a mother with a millenial child kind of story. It actually tackles problems and situations in general. That is why I am so excited to watch it on January 17. Take your mom out to go see the movie and as Ms Sylvia said, there are many realizations in this film plus it is impossible to not cry so bring a lot of tissue.

See you at the cinemas.

By the way, I love the writer and director of this film, very passionate in sharing and answering our questions. Karen Reyes carried a ton of good vibes, Diego Loyzaga is just chill while Heaven Peralejo is not just a pretty face. All good.

Delivering a Next-Generation Mobile Experience for Consumers with Industry-Leading Optical Fingerprint Sensor from Synaptics

Las Vegas, US, 9 January 2018 – Today at CES 2018, Vivo, a young global smartphone brand, showcases the world’s first ready-to-produce in-display fingerprint scanning smartphone that draws attention from a global audience. Leading with distinct innovative breakthroughs, the futuristic Vivo in-display fingerprint scanning smartphone offers consumers an unprecedented mobile experience, defining a new era of mobile interaction.

Vivo In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology in Detail

World’s First In-Display Fingerprint Smartphone Ready for Mass Production
At CES 2018, Vivo shows the world the first ready-to-produce smartphone featuring in-display fingerprint scanning technology, demonstrating its continued commitment to bringing an extraordinary user experience to consumers. This latest fingerprint scanning technology delivers a whole new mobile experience by enabling users to unlock their smartphone through one-touch fingerprint scanning directly on the smartphone display, while solving the industry’s challenge of providing a better and more convenient fingerprint authentication experience in future smartphones.

According to statistics from global consultancy Canalys, smartphone vendors shipped 22 million full-screen smartphones worldwide in the second quarter in 2017, up from 700,000 in the first quarter of this year. UBI Research predicted that bezel-less displays will grow in market share from 20% in 2017 to over 50% by 2020. Fingerprint recognition has long been one of the most common and well-known biometrics used to secure smartphones. As the industry moves into a new era of full-screen displays, it is natural that the fingerprint scanning technology needs to evolve to accommodate new user habits and demands for bigger screens without sacrificing user experience.

“With our efforts in extensive consumer research and long-term R&D investment, Vivo is well positioned to pioneer the development of fingerprint scanning technology. We first presented a prototype of our fingerprint scanning solution at MWC Shanghai 2017 based on an ultrasonic sensor, and have remained committed to realizing our vision for future smartphones,” said Alex Feng, Senior Vice President of Vivo. “Today’s showcase of a ready-to-produce in-display fingerprint scanning smartphone featuring an optical fingerprint sensor is a big leap forward in bringing consumers this long-awaited, futuristic mobile experience. We are very excited to make it available to consumers soon.”

Innovation that Delivers a New Level of User Experience
Vivo’s full-production smartphone is equipped with the industry-leading, world’s first in-display fingerprint scanning technology supported by global partner Synaptics.

Vivo In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology supports various usage scenarios beyond unlocking the smartphone, and is only activated when needed. A graphical UI will show up on Vivo’s smartphone screen in any scenario that fingerprint recognition is required, such as when the screen is off, during software unlocking, or even mobile payment authentication. Users can press the fingerprint graphic on the screen to perform unlocking, payment and other operations. When fingerprint recognition is not required, the UI will be invisible and will not disrupt the overall visual experience.

Vivo In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology outperforms other authentication solutions available for full-screen smartphones in many aspects. Compared to fingerprint sensors on the back of smartphones, Vivo In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology offers a more convenient operation without sacrificing the sleek and unified design of the smartphone. It also enables quick and secured authentication.

Full-screen displays are set to deliver a more immersive user experience for consumers as various interactions will be integrated and consolidated on the display. Vivo In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology replaces the physical fingerprint button on the screen, laying the foundation for a truly immersive experience.

The showcasing of the world’s first in-display fingerprint scanning smartphone ready for mass-production marks a significant leap forward in the industry’s development, taking users’ smartphone experience to a new level. The availability of Vivo’s first in-display fingerprint scanning smartphone will be announced in early 2018.

It is so overwhelming to see Ms Sylvia Sanchez and her son Arjo Atayde in #HanggangSaan. Hindi pala imposible na magsama ang mag-ina na ubod galing umarte sa isang serye.

Arjo proved that he is not only pang kontrabida roles, pwedeng pwede rin sya sa drama. I even saw a few videos of him dancing and my gosh super cute and fun sya panoorin.

Iba rin naman talaga kapag nasa dugo ang pagiging tunay at professional na artista, it shows naturally at mata pa lang nangungusap na, so effortless of Arjo ang galing!

Global smartphone brand Vivo is participating in the Consumer Technology Association™ (CES) 2018 where it will showcase the Vivo In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology with its global partner Synaptics. Vivo’s exhibit will feature the brand’s first ready-to-produce smartphone featuring an industry-leading in-display fingerprint sensor supported by Synaptics. The Vivo phone to use this leading technology and its availability will be announced in early 2018.

CES is an assembly of global brands and companies which thrive on consumer technologies. It has served as a global stage for innovators and breakthrough technologies for 50 years. The gathering will be held at Las Vegas in Nevada, USA.

Vivo’s participation in the CES 2018 is just part of the brand’s effort to maintain its position in the global mobile phone arena. Vivo constantly innovates and improves user experience through the maintenance of its six research and development centers, continuously improving their products and exceeding their competitors in more ways than one. Vivo is known for its many firsts: one of the first smartphone brands to launch phones with a 24MP front facing camera, the Vivo V7 and the V7+, the first smartphone brand to install a dedicated Hi-Fi quality audio chip in a smartphone, the Vivo X1, and the first to launch a 20MP dual front camera smartphone, the Vivo V5 Plus.

Vivo proved to be the fastest growing in terms of popularity in the Philippines, settling itself on the third spot in the market beyond brands Apple, Huawei, LG, and Asus. To date, Vivo has at least 1.1 million users and 5,200 stores in the Philippines. In early 2016, Vivo has already been named as one of the top 5 global smartphone brands and observed the highest year-over-year growth of 32% in global shipments. Vivo’s success remains unprecedented with 200 million Vivo global users and 13 overseas market plus a global shipment expected to exceed 100 million units for 2017 alone. Vivo’s success is attributed to its smartphones’ sleek and hip design, all-screen display, and the revolutionary 24MP camera. The brand also owes it success to its accurate consumer insight, innovative solutions and offerings, and creative marketing strategy.
